This study follows the quantitative analysis by implementing an online survey among 10 members from Centrica PLC. The information has been acquired using six sets of questions. From the mentioned five categories (age, experience, and level of education, benefits and salary, work environment, job security, and training and development) highest responses (40%) have been received for the factor job security. On the other hand, 20% of members selected training and development, benefits and salary, and work environment as major factors of employer engagement in Centrica PLC.

Findings: From the above diagram it can be observed that Centrica PLC members have been asked about major issues of Centrica PLC, which can be mitigated through Employer engagement. Five categories have been mentioned in the question. The highest responses (40%) come for the category ‘giving engaging work’. 20% responses from members have been stated that developing an employer engagement strategy and recognizing and hiring correct employees are the major issues that can be mitigated through Employer engagement. Whereas, only 10% of members stated that encouraging passion and offering good salaries are the major issues that can be mitigated through Employer engagement.

Findings: From the above diagram it can be observed that Centrica PLC members have been asked about the theories for Employer engagement to develop the best internal and external factors of Centrica PLC. Three theories have been mentioned which comprised employer attraction, employer development, and employer retention respectively. The highest responses (40%) come for the category ‘employer development’. 30% responses from members have been stated that employer attraction and employer retention are the best theories for Employer engagement to develop the best internal and external factors of Centrica PLC.

Qualitative Analysis 

Qualitative data analysis brings clarity to a set of data containing qualitative data from a variety of sources. However, the qualitative approach encompasses a wide range of concepts, as it is frequently associated with a specific technique, theoretical approach, or kinds of research (Lester, Cho and Lochmiller, 2020). In this study, a thematic analysis has been carried out as a part of qualitative research. Thematic study is a qualitative method of research that can be applied to a wide range of research subjects and systems of thought. It's a technique for finding, analysing, organising, summarizing, and reporting themes in a set of data (Nowell et al., 2017).

Theme 1: Encouraging worker diversity as a good employer

Centrical PLC has made it a priority to meet the diverse needs of its clients and communities in its staff in order to hire and retain talents and increase customer satisfaction. To supplement Centrica's employer retention networks, the company has been working hard to become a more inclusive and diverse workplace. In 2017, they designed a new Disabilities and Wellness Employee Community (Centrica Plc, 2021). There is indeed a misconception that diversity is for minorities, whereas in reality, it affects everyone. Centrica is distinct for a variety of reasons, including differences in talents, personal characteristics, beliefs, and perspectives. From the survey process, it was found that the people who took part in the survey were working in the organization for around 2 to 9 years and they conveyed their views that factors of employee engagement are benefits in salaries, work environment, job security development, and training and so on. It has also been found that the organization’s priority is to provide diverse needs of the committee and clients so as to retain higher talent and also to increase customer satisfaction. It has also been identified that in order to supplement the organizations’ employee retention networks the organization has been working so hard to become a more diverse and inclusive workplace and it can also be said that it influencers in having greater employee engagement when the environment within the organization is good. 

Again it has also been identified that some of the major factors related to employee engagement within an organization are related to the organizations’ culture as the culture of the organization is the one which helps in creating the values and behaviours of the employees and encouragement and value is also required in order to have employee engagement. The next one that has been found is providing employees a platform that will help them in showcasing each and every idea that they have. Moreover, the organization acquires the young generation in order to develop the required skills for society. This young generation helps the organization with mathematical Industrial and Technological and scientific knowledge. This helps them to identify the different issues taking place within the organization. From the survey, it was found that employee engagement helps the organization to hire and recognize correct employees offering impressive salaries and so on. 

From the literature review part, it has also been gathered that there are a number of issues that can be mitigated with the help of employee engagement is lack of clarification that is wherein an organization contains engaged employees then it can be said that these employees are totally satisfied with the service and also given their best for the organization, therefore, this particular issue is solved with the help of employee engagement. The next one is that the communication gap that occurs is also reduced as engaged employees always talk to the manager superior rather than take their opinions and views and then do their work. 

Lastly, as it has been found that the best models that can be utilized by organizations to have better employee engagement within the organization are the zinger model and the Deloitte model. Besides, from the survey process it has been found that the participants believe that models like employee attraction, employee development, and Employment retention.  

 

Reflection of the application of research methodology

From the research methodology part, I came to know about the various ways that can be utilized by the researcher in order to conduct the research study properly. I came across a number of factors and reasons that helped me to understand the in-depth meaning of choosing some particular ways for conducting the research study. During this process of research methodology, I also realized the fact that having proper planning of what to be done before going into the research is very much crucial so as to not face any kinds of trouble while completing the research study. I also realized the fact that choosing the appropriate method that is required for the particular study in relation to the topic is very crucial or else it may result in an inappropriate conclusion to the study, and this can have a bad impact on the overall study. I also feel that each and every process of research methodology is very crucial as it can be seen during the process that each of these methods has been utilized properly and which has resulted in having such an appropriate research study. 

Conclusion 

From this particular study, it can be concluded that employee engagement is known to be one of the crucial factors that helps organizations like Centrica PLC to have good talent management within the organization. However, there are some challenges of employee engagement too but it can be decreased with the help of the application of models like the zinger model and the Deloitte model. The various application of research methodology in this study has also been discussed and also the appropriate choice of required method has been provided along with the justification of it. Lastly, an analysis of the survey has been made and a discussion in relation to it and the reflection on research methodology has been provided.
