Appropriate research methodologies and approaches
Research philosophy is considered to be a way to have the advancement of the required information and also different skills for the study. It helps in showcasing the ideas and for interviews of the research on the basis of the strategies made by him. The research philosophy is divided into three types: positivism, interpretivism, and realism (epe.rutgers.edu, 2021). In this particular study, the researcher has made use of positivism philosophy so as to gather reliable and truthful information about the topic. Positivism philosophy has also held the researcher to make the research study more authentic and to maintain the accuracy and truthfulness of the information.
The research approach is known to be an important method that the researcher uses in order to identify some of the appropriate and required methods in order to gather proper and appropriate information for the study by following the plan that has been created. The research approach is divided into two types: the inductive approach and the detective approach. In this particular research study, the researcher has chosen to make use of the deductive research approach (cipd.co, 2021). The reason behind choosing the deductive approach is that this particular study is focused on having Logical reasoning in order to have appropriate conclusions. It also helps the researcher to point out the variations between variables and original factors of the study.
Research Design is known to be the method that is utilized in order to conduct the study and in this particular part the researcher is required to figure out the actual structure that is required for the overall dissertation. The Research Design is considered to be the total strategy that is required in order to prepare the research work (mckinsey.com, 2021). The Research Design is divided into three types descriptive, explanatory and exploratory. In this particular study, the researcher has made the use of descriptive research design in order to make the use of various secondary sources like newspapers, articles, magazines, and journals to collect the required information for the study.
Data Collection Method
Data Collection is known to be one of the practical methods that are utilized by the researcher in order to collect all required information and also to identify the correct information and data that is required for the completion of the study. Data Collection is divided into two type’s primary data collection method and secondary data collection method (Human Resources Today, 202). In this particular study, the researcher has made use of both primary and secondary data collection methods so as to make use of both the survey and interview process and also various secondary resources like journal articles and magazines to collect information.
Data analysis is known to be the path in which the researcher analyses and interprets the information that has been collected by him during the process of Data Collection. Data analysis also helps in identifying the problem statements of the study and it is based on the aims and objectives and also the requirements of the study. Jethalal's is divided into two types: qualitative analysis and quantitative data analysis (epe.rutgers.edu, 2021). The research in this particular study has made use of both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. This is because quantitative is based on the numerical and statistical information and also information collected from the survey and interview process and on the other hand qualitative is based on the related information gathered from secondary sources.
Analysis and Finding
Quantitative studies focus on quantifiable metrics and statistics, scientific, or numerical assessment of information acquired through surveys, questionnaires, and interviews, as well as modifying pre-existing survey information using computing tools (Bairagi and Munot, 2019). This study follows the quantitative analysis by implementing an online survey among 10 members from Centrica PLC. The information has been acquired using six sets of questions. The studies mainly focused on a sample of 10 people that was indicative of the general group. The information has been presented in the form of numbers, pie charts, and figures.

Five categories have been mentioned in the questions. 50% of respondents said that they are from the age category of 25-30. 30% of respondents represent the age category of 31-35. Only 20% of respondents represent the age category of 36-40.
Findings: The second question that has been asked to the respondents was about their gender. 50% of female members took part in this survey whereas; the survey questions have been answered by 50% male members of Centrica PLC.

In this study, a thematic analysis has been carried out as a part of qualitative research. Thematic study is a qualitative method of research that can be applied to a wide range of research subjects and systems of thought. It's a technique for finding, analysing, organising, summarizing, and reporting themes in a set of data (Nowell et al., 2017).

Reflection of the application of research methodology
From the research methodology part, I came to know about the various ways that can be utilized by the researcher in order to conduct the research study properly. I came across a number of factors and reasons that helped me to understand the in-depth meaning of choosing some particular ways for conducting the research study. During this process of research methodology, I also realized the fact that having proper planning of what to be done before going into the research is very much crucial so as to not face any kinds of trouble while completing the research study. I also realized the fact that choosing the appropriate method that is required for the particular study in relation to the topic is very crucial or else it may result in an inappropriate conclusion to the study, and this can have a bad impact on the overall study. I also feel that each and every process of research methodology is very crucial as it can be seen during the process that each of these methods has been utilized properly and which has resulted in having such an appropriate research study.
From this particular study, it can be concluded that employee engagement is known to be one of the crucial factors that helps organizations like Centrica PLC to have good talent management within the organization. However, there are some challenges of employee engagement too but it can be decreased with the help of the application of models like the zinger model and the Deloitte model. The various application of research methodology in this study has also been discussed and also the appropriate choice of required method has been provided along with the justification of it. Lastly, an analysis of the survey has been made and a discussion in relation to it and the reflection on research methodology has been provided.
